Ivy and the electronics 0
Kelly and I had just about enough of Ivy turning off the DVR in the middle of a show. Can you really blame her though? Electronics are very seductive. Our girl loved to turn the PS3 & DVD player on and to change the settings on the receiver. Today I took Ivy to target in hunt of a solution. Above is a photo of the new living room setup with the electronics far away and something else in Ivy reach.
Ivy, 50D DSLR video test 0
I took this with a Canon DSLR. It’s a digital still camera that isn’t meant to shoot video, it also has no microphone. Creates an interesting look with the 85mm f/1.8 lens. Ivy is 6 months old here.
Ivy Turismo 0
Kelly left Ivy alone with Daddy for many hours one Saturday. Ivy and I made this video of her driving an RX-8 in the game “Gran Turismo” for playstation 3. If you are wondering… I didn’t MAKE her cry, just had to keep the camera rolling long enough. She wanted out of that chair.
Nesting 3
Just in time for someone to live in it, the baby’s room is set up. I don’t think it’s quite “done” yet though, there is some prime wall space still empty. I plan on doing a painting for above the crib, we’ll see when that happens. Thanks to everyone who’s contributed to this room, I’m SURE Ivy will find it a calming and visually stimulating place.
Terror in the Birthing Class 0
Kelly and I took an all day birthing class at Crittenton on saturday. For the first 2/3 of the pregnancy we were both softly opposed to these classes. Our rational being that it’s just as natural and self explanatory as how we ended up pregnant and will have trained pros guiding us through it all. I’m not sure what changed, I just know that one day we weren’t taking one and the next day we were booked and paid for *8 hours of fun. (*there was a nice hour lunch break)
Right off the bat I was distracted by the videos… “Are those tracking lines, somebody clean the heads, wait…. VHS!!!!”. I got over the dated tech but I’m still not over the things I’VE SEEN & HEARD. I’m not really that worried. I’m sure instincts will kick in, adrenaline will flow and I’ll figure out how to be supportive and not an ass.
